Ocean State Aviation is currently seeking individuals for the following position(s):

GSE Mechanic (Full-Time)

A Ground Service Equipment shop at TF Green Airport has an immediate opening for a full time mechanic. We service several fleets of equipment for several major airlines.

Responsibilities include performing scheduled maintenance, diagnosing and repairing motorized and non-motorized equipment, as well as accurately documenting all work performed. This is a fast paced environment that offers a great variety not found in your average mechanic’s position.

Day to day operations involve working indoors and outdoors in all seasons. Applicants should have minimum 3 years of experience, their own tools, and at least some diesel experience. You must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screening.

Airline Customer Service Agent (Part-Time)

 

Responsibilites:

  • Greet and assist all customers in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner
  • Present a professional and positive image of Ocean State Aviation and our Customers
  • Provide check-in assistance and special service requests for passengers
  • Verify travel documents are valid
  • Check and accept passenger luggage
  • Provide accurate gate, flight arrival and departure information, as well as answer general inquiries
  • Assist unaccompanied minors and passengers with special needs, resolve customer concerns and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Board/deplane flights and escort passengers to and from aircraft as needed including passengers with special service requests
  • Provide clear and accurate communication to passengers, agent and flight crews.
  • Assist in cleaning of aircraft as listed above.
  • Must be able to lift luggage weighing 50+lbs repetitively.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to unaccompanied minors, law enforcement officers, dangerous goods and other regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier security and safety requirements
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
  • Bilingual (Portuguese) a plus.

Qualifications

  • Pass a 10 year federal criminal background.
  • Pass a drug screen.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
  • Have reliable transportation.

Ramp Agent/Baggage Handler (Part-Time)

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the ramp at all times;
  • Marshal aircraft on the ramp (e.g. directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft);
  • Observe safe ground-handling procedures
  • Perform pre-operative performance equipment checks on ground support equipment
  • Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, airfreight and company material; continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting and transfer of baggage, freight and company material;
  • Service aircraft as needed (e.g. aircraft lavatories, potable water);
  • Assist in ramp set up and storage of equipment and baggage;
  • Constantly communicate with flight crew personnel and other ground personnel;
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and manager;
  • Must be able to lift 70lbs on a repeated basis.
  • Comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier security and safety requirements

Qualifications

  • Pass a 10 year federal criminal background.
  • Pass a drug screen.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
  • Have reliable transportation.

Wheelchair Agent (Part-Time) 

As a valued member of the Ocean State Aviation team, you will provide safe and courteous wheelchair services to various airline passengers with disabilities, while complying with the Air Carrier Access Act, airport policies, airline procedures, FAA regulations, and U.S. Customs procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and comfortably lift disabled passengers with assistance from one mobility device to or from an aircraft seat
  • Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates
  • Carry passengers’ carry-on luggage
  • Assist with checked and claimed luggage
  • Roll customer-occupied wheelchair safely down the jet bridge
  • Ensure wheel brakes are in place prior to allowing passengers to exit the wheelchair
  • Complete any necessary wheelchair or incident reports
  • Follow dispatcher gate orders
  • Stock needed supplies including, but not limited to, baggage tubs
  • Pull unclaimed luggage from baggage belts and ensure its security
  • Assist passenger with any problems, questions, or concerns
  • Maintain professional working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, managers, airline employees, and airport authorities
  • Have computer, tablet or smart phone ability
  • Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age
  • Reliable transportation
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Pass a 10 year federal criminal background.
  • Pass a drug screen
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to follow airline and Ocean State Aviation safety guidelines for transporting the physically challenged
